I was visiting my parents, and the radio was on a talkback station.
The topic seemed to be bushifres.
Some hippy called. He is renting a house in a locale with lots of trees.
He is moaning that the paranoid landlord came and cut down trees near
the house and now it is 20 degrees hotter.
And hey man, heat causes bushfires, man....

# Did the hippy draw that conclusion, or is that your addition?
As the hippy was renting, all he was concerned about was his own
comfort - and trees provide shade.
The landlord was more concerned about fire risk; of having trees too
close.
So, irreconcilable?
Does heat cause bushfires? Not in itself. The bush may be tinder dry,
but a spark is still necessary.
Ah, the Bushfire Season, in which the Authorities are everywhere.
Yesterday, on TV news, some rural folk were trying to get back home, by
circumventing police road blocks.
Then there is the Backyard Bunker; not popular with the Authorities
(although they will grudgingly allow it), as it makes you independent. A
Local Community Refuge is OK.
Yeah, we now have a whole Bushfire Industry, and, even if the Arsonist
must be eliminated, thank God for lightning!
